Saturday night Dan and I were going to some friends and i could not find a sitter. But i thought I it would be a good opportunity for Emily to try her hand at babysitting. I have left her for less than an hour during the day with the kids, and usually just have them watch TV the whole time. So she has been excited all week with this grown up responsibility on the horizon.
Things went well, but bedtime for Carson was a little hairy. In the end we came home at 10pm because she was getting upset. But we called as we pulled out of our friends driveway to come home and he had stopped crying and gone to sleep. By the time we got home she was asleep too!
All in all a successful first time, and showed me she will be more prepared to sit for other families in a year or so if she has some experience she can get from her own baby brother!

With have started doing the same with Natalie, but we have found it helpful to arm her with bribes if they are being good! So far it has worked!
Hi Heidi and Dan and kidderoos,
We got your Christmas pic and letter. Had to take a peek at your blog. I think I will steal your 100-things list for our bloggity-blog.
It was this time-ish last year we were at your place. Sure love you guys. Merry Christmas.
I love to read your adventures. Crazy to think Emily is almost ready to babysit other kids.
Its crazy to think Emily is almost old enough to babysit other peoples kids. To bad you don't live close.
Hi Tylers! I found your blog off of
Mindy's site! It's so nice to have older kids to babysit. We've been able to leave ours for quite a while now. Sweet freedom!!
Hi Heidi and Dan! We loved your Christmas letter. :) I have let Devon babysit a few times now too. Once the "baby" is in bed and we are gone for under an hour. But it is pretty exciting to think about. Date nights... ahhh.
I'd love to be added to your blog list when you make it private again. It is such a fun way to keep up with friends who are far away!
